BPAL Madness!

Too lazy to be ambitious,
I let the world take care of itself.
Ten days’ worth of rice in my bag;
a bundle of twigs by the fireplace.
Why chatter about delusion and enlightenment?
Listening to the night rain on my roof,
I sit comfortably, with both legs stretched out.

Ten days-worth of rice, a bundle of twigs, and a soothing cup of white tea.

I was extremely excited about this Lunacy. Rice is a love note for me! Somehow, I didn't get rice in anything.

Idle Moon is a lot sweeter than I thought it would be. I was imagining something that would starchy, a little woody, maybe a little creamy, and warm from the white tea. It's sweet. I can't smell rice or twigs, or white tea. It's not bad. It's just very different than what I expected based on the notes.

Edit: this eventually pulled extremely syrupy and unpleasant after a few hours. I am really confused and surprised, as nothing in the notes signaled to me that this would be a very sweet perfume.

Crisp breezy white tea, with a creamy musky element I can't quite pin. As it dries down I get a bit of light woodiness, nothing intense like cedar, just giving a bit more backbone to the tea. The rice becomes more apparent as it dries down, I think it was part of that muskiness I was getting fresh on. Settled it's a low, warm airy base for the tea, and it's striking me like specifically basmati rice.

Idle Moon is different than what I expected when it goes on. I think I was expecting something like woody rice with the white tea lifting it up, but instead it's a almost tangy, slightly sweet white tea with a milky aspect (wet stage). It takes a while, but the rice and a tiny bit of green woodiness do come out later and turn this into a fragrant and perfumy rice. It's unique and lovely.

I'm excited to try this with some duets!
